Fajitas, pasta and burgers on the same menu? Sold! Short story: good Happy Hour, nice relaxed bar space, delicious food, and - most importantly of all - the salsa is worth it! If you're on the fence, get the chips and salsa. Either to complement a meal or as the perfect company to a round of beers! A note if you get the fajitas too, the fillings come out on a cast iron tray, still sizzling as they're brought to your table, while the tortillas come out in a little warming bin. I absolutely loved the "extra thick" tortillas, which are super-flexible pita bread-type things. Yum! Our service was also very good, even when inundated with not one, but two large groups of boisterous kids as a distraction. Long story: Came off the top of Pinnacle mountain absolutely ravenous, but too tired by the time we got home to venture outside of Hillcrest. So, we popped in to Canon Grill for a late lunch. Right off the bat, I was grumpy. I saw fajitas and burritos on the menu, but saw that salsa wasn't included in anything else, and came separately at around $5 by itself. Now, I'm a spoiled eater, and if those items are on the menu, I usually assume there's going to be a dinky salsa thing and endless chips just as part of the meal. But, we were starving, and we were tired of waiting, and dangit, we wanted salsa! So, we split an order of the veggie fajitas (just as somewhere to start) and the salsa. We were not disappointed! Now, here's why the salsa is worth it. First, it's fresh, I thought it was delicious, and while it's not super-spicy, it's enough to get your lips tingling a few chips in. Second, the bowl you get of it is *big,* (see the photo!) third, and a nice touch, the chips come out hot. I can't say enough how nice that was! Oh, and of course it's bottomless! Which even means, if you ask nicely, they'll send you home with an extra batch of chips and salsa, which was so nice. There are a lot of details about this place, but really our experience is summed up by the salsa: I had high hopes before going in, was initially disappointed, and then impressed and pleased by one surprise after another! The fajitas, even just the veggie one, were delicious. And even after a day of hiking, one order of the salsa and a split order of the fajitas was enough that both of us were stuffed by the end. I'll definitely be back for happy hour and more salsa!

This is the first time back in ten years. Only stopped since it was open and we were driving buy. I hoped things had changed there. I was wrong. Five dollars for bland salsa. The burrito I had and the tacos my wife hand were bland, boring, and overpriced. Being in between the pantry crest and ciao bacci, I had hoped they would step up and improve. I was wrong.

IF (and if you didn't notice, that "if" was intentionally in all-caps) you don't mind spending $12 on a burger and fries with no drink (or water), then Canon Grill might have the absolute best burger for you in town! It's better than Big Orange. It's better than David's (but almost twice the price). It's almost as if that one buddy you probably has that prides himself on a humbly awesome cheeseburger has decided to sell them for a premium. The fries aren't really anything to write home about, so just take your chips and save $3. They're good enough, they're just not seasoned all that much, and somewhat soggy. Wait staff was on-point, and the owner is really nice. I'll eat there again, when I've got money to burn.

Great burger with super crispy fries. The spicy bean tacos on the crispy flour tortilla is fantastic.

The worst Mexican I've had in Little Rock-- which I realize, isn't much of an criticism. Bland, dry meat. Ketchup-esque salsa that isn't even complimentary. If I had three thumbs, they'd all be down on this sad establishment. It's too bad-- this is a cute, small dive in a fun, walkable area.

Great location. Friendly staff. Bland food. Hamburgers okay. Rest more or less tasteless. Disappointing.

While visiting Little Rock, we had to go out for a drink. There is a strip of restaurants and bars on Kavanaugh Blvd. We stopped by Canon Grill. It's a bar with pizza, pasta, quesadillas, and fajitas. My friend ordered the cheese dip. It was good. It tasted like a Mexican restaurant queso dip. We were there near closing time, so we only had one drink. They have a variety of drinks. They have a full bar. They also have a variety of frozen margaritas. I went with a dos equis beer on draft. It's a chill place to go for a drink. However, they do not stay open late.

The bad reviews posted about the Canon Grill are a hoot. Stupid, but still a hoot. Who told the one yahoo that this is a "Mexican" restaurant? Seriously??? Yes, there are Tex-Mex items on the menu, but when did burgers and pasta dishes become "Mexican?" Reviews are much more beneficial to readers, when the writers are well informed. With that said... Canon Grill offers a diverse menu that has had my wife and I coming back for years. They offer some of the best burgers in town (seriously), and the Canon Queso is a great snack when hitting the restaurant just to have a few beers. This menu isn't bland at all. The pasta dishes have a very nice "kick" of flavor...particularly the spicy marinara of the Canon Pasta.

Over priced and menu is ridiculous. The menu seemed to be some twisted attempt at having a interesting and elevated collage of food for diners but missed the mark completely. And seriously 24 dollars for fajitas? And the nachos where a joke as well. 6 chips and some toppings... as long as this how the food is me and mine won't return.

Expensive Mexican food for mediocre food. What Mexican restaurant has pasta and pizza on their menu... I will not be eating there again

After a few not-so-stellar meals years back, I decided to give Canon Grill another try. I was glad I did, as I enjoyed it! The family started with endless salsa and chips. I liked the salsa a lot- it had more of a thick, almost marinara like taste and consistency. For my entree, I tried the chicken fajitas on "thick" (pita) bread. Although it was a small portion meat wise, the ingredients all tasted fresh- and it was more than enough for me. Fajitas came with the usual - onions, peppers, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, and pico. My companions tried tacos and quesadillas. All were enjoyably consumed. I also thought the lime (vs. lemon) wedge with the water was a nice touch. We had so-so service. Sweet waitress, but overwhelmed and not a good multi-tasker.

One of the best deals in Little Rock. It ain't fancy. We usually stick to the burgers and fires. The Tex-Mex is okay, but usually I just get a cheeseburger. Take-out orders only take about 10-15 minutes before your food is ready. On a good day, you could eat for two (plus beers) and spend less than 25 dollars. The waitress are pretty friendly and quick. If you eat in, you won't have to wait long. You never have to wait for a seat, and there's good parking spots nearby. I probably go here once a month and have never had a bad experience in the 2.5 years I've been in LR..
